I remember quite vividly going into the National Museum of The US Air Force for the first time. A very special day, May 17th 2018. I was taken aback by the gigantic hangar. Since it was the grand opening of the restored Memphis Belle exhibit, there were a lot of people.
My first impression upon seeing the B-17 was its size. I was expecting a much larger plane.
Still, I was impressed by the restoration and I had the chance to talk to a few volunteers involved in the restoration. Some had to make new tools to get the job done. That’s how dedicated most volunteers are. I have a huge admiration for these guys.
What a memorable day it was. I came back the next two days and I attended the first showing of the restored version of “Story of a Flying Fortress”.
Here’s a couple of videos I shot on that day.
